AYRSHIRE police are appealing for information following the theft of digging equipment in Irvine.

Officers say that the theft took place sometime between 5pm Sunday, November 6 and 8am on Monday, November 7.

The suspect, or suspects, appear to have made off with a digger bucket from machinery which was parked up at the bridge by Long Drive, near to St Kilda Bank.

Police added that whoever stole the bucket would have had to dig underneath this to remove it, so would have been in the area for some time.

They are keen to speak to anyone who may have driven in the area, and seen any suspicious activitiy.

Anyone with such information is asked to contact Police Scotland by calling 101, and quoting reference UA02051122.
